6th Annual Battle at the Border to Host a Big/Small Block Shoot-Out

Ransomville, NY – Wednesday, February 11th, 2015 – The management at Ransomville Speedway has been busy preparing for their 58th season of competition. One of the more successful and historic tracks in the northeast, promoters Jamie and Joel Friesen are always looking for ways to further enhance their program. This years Battle at the Border is sure to do just that.

Slated for Wednesday, July 1st, this years Battle at the Border will be a Big Block / Small Block Modified shoot-out offering $4000 to the 1st Big Block to cross the finish line AND $4000 to the 1st Small Block to cross the finish line. Presented by Waste Management and Budweiser Racing, an additional $3000 has been added to the purse. These changes came about due to the changes within the Super DIRTcar 358 Modified and Sportsman Series.

“With DIRTcar changing the format of these series to concentrating primarily in the Fall, this meant changes to our Battle at the Border which had hosted the twin series for the past few years,” commented PR Director Tana Robinson. “Jamie and Joel came up with what I think is one of the most unique ideas yet. Promising to pull both Big Blocks and Small Blocks as the top finisher in each will take home the top prize of $4000.”

Additionally the Grit Sportsman Series will make its debut at the Big R. Both events should pull in many outside drivers looking to take on the very talented local talent.
