The Grand Ballroom of the Lancaster Host Hotel
in Lancaster, PA opened its doors for the United Racing Company 61st Annual
Awards Banquet on Saturday night. A total cash payout of $45,000 was
distributed to the competitors of URC with the championship team of driver
Curt Michael and Owner Bill Gallagher collecting $11,700. For Curt Michael
of Ocean View, DE, it was his sixth URC Championship and fifth consecutive
title.
For Owner Champion Bill Gallagher, the 2008 URC Championship was his first.
Four wins on the season and relentless determination and consistency earned
the championship team their place on center stage.
Former URC Champion Drivers Kramer Williamson and Glenn Fitzcharles were the
guests of honor following their recent induction into the Knoxville Hall of
Fame in Knoxville, Iowa.
