With the changes made to DTD's front page, I find there is no way to connect to "Recent Columns", like mine is when I post them.  I checked with Mike Mallett and he got back to me telling me he has to set up a new account for me.  So for at least this week, even though I posted it last night, you more than likely won'd be able to read it here on DTD.   However, if you'd like, you could check it out on: http://newenglandtractor.com/racereport/   Thanks, and sorry for this slight problem.   Tom

Some pretty interesting comments Larry made about Matt Sheppard and Troyer chassis! It's on the front page with the Hearn header.

I think the problem with that experiment is that one of the main influences for it was a Rocket. If they take the best of each modified chassis and put em in one car they might be on to something.

He went down that road already. Didn't quite work out.

the other thing I am wondering is... since Larry has his engineering qualifications now, perhaps he is just testing all the existing chassis, learning what is best about each one and maybe in a couple more years he is going to design an LJL chassis?

So what would a one guy need 6 chassis no matter the make for???? I can see having 3. I also thought he ran good in the Troyer?   2 for the sds big block series 2 for the sds small block series 2 for the roc series 2 for the deyo series 2 for the weekly shows   oh shoot thats too many cars. big track cars, short track cars, dry/slick cars, tacky track cars, bar cars, coil cars. why not? heck if i had the money you can bet your butt i'd have 6 cars too.    Some people don't have NEARLY that much money and have that many cars!   :D

The sprints were paid 2K to win, 200 to start each night which is more than double their normal purse.  I don't know the mods though.

Very nice pictorial. This Cancer is horrible. Brian was a true gentleman. He and Ray would help anyone. Truly sad news. Rest in Peace.

Not Fair Shawnie... I Know There Is No Rule About This, But We Need To See You Picks.... Guy Wins 1 Week And He's Cheating Even More. Might Just As Well Crown Him The Champ Now

Actually.. it could make it worse.. Snow is a great insulator.. removing it from the track surface would allow the frost to get deeper into the ground....

Kids never get tired of going in the pits and seeing their heroes and the shiny chariots they drive. Many times, going in the pits, and maybe sitting in some of the cars is what gets kids excited about coming back the next week.

Sorry Jake but someone gave you inaccurate info. Larry has 4 complete Troyers, 1 brand new body and frame and 1 bare frame that was clipped.

Maybe they had to trim Vic's late model budget to help offset the cost of bringing Tommy Greco back on board with T-Mac   Vic Coffey is a great family man and loves his family more then racing, so he decided to stay close to home!

Maybe they had to trim Vic's late model budget to help offset the cost of bringing Tommy Greco back on board with T-Mac He ran more modified stuff than late model stuff last year too. I know he wasn't particularly happy with the newer Rockets he has compared to the older ones, so that might have something to do with it too. Plus, to make any money racing a late model from upstate New York, it's quite a bit of traveling. That life ain't for everybody.
