  1. I just like the fact that the track decided to extend its season by another week. Would not matter to me if it was just street stocks , sportsman , whatever. I have been saying for years that I wish more tracks would stay open after Labor Day . To give fans and racers the option of not traveling

  2. Most tracks have always been 30-35 laps... the difference is all tracks use to handicap the top 18 so the big boys, came from deep in the feild.. most tracks now only handicap the top 12 or 15 so they now start closer to the front

  3. Very awesome responses. Fire on Dirt was alot of fun. Chris Pappa and the boys started something that has turned into this site today. My hat is off to Mallet and the guys for the current website. I would love to see the current forum go back to what we used to do. We had alot of fun critiquing and not bashing. Posts were made that made sense and for the most part everyone got along.

  4. You cannot go by the date it says you joined there, Ive been around since well before September 17th, 2003... I believe thats when the Message board crashed and became unsalvagable and everything reset.

  5. The way I see it is, If you go out bowling you'll spend $20-$30 a night( I think? I havent been in a while) or golfing you're up to $40-$60. For one time only. With iRacing you "license" the content for $12 or $15 and you can use it as much as you want. It does take a little investment to get started. But if you upgrade slowly its not bad. After 5 years I went from a wooden chair, a g27 on a tv tray about 5 feet from a 22" screen. To a nice office chair, wobbly desk and a 27" monitor, Now Im on a solid rig I made out of old pallet 2x4's, triple monitors, $60 logitech surround sound system

  6. Anybody who is sick enought to jam a squirrel's nuts between two boards should be taken out on the back 40 and shot.

  7. Group of my dad's friends used to rent a Club Wagon to head to Super DIRT Week before my time. One near the "n" on the logo was missing, so it read "Club Wago" and they just started calling themselves that. They always were into tailgating and all that fun stuff, so we used to hang hand-drawn banners and randomly people would stop by for a few beers. When I was in middle school I turned it into a dumb little website and more people started to come around (and the Wago Juice was created). By the time I was in college we were throwing some solid parties at the bigger races. In the last 5 years,

  9. Wow...agree so much. If you want the biggest difference - there it is. Handicapping has changed because dwindling fields have forced it so. The norm for the longest time was three heats with top six qualifying and then a consi with another six making the cut to round out a 24 car field. Now a full field is becoming rare and creative "solutions" have been employed. Been going since 1963.... and have seen so much change...so much change.

  11. I don’t see why most of the guys that run the Patriot and ESS tours wouldn’t show up to Canandaigua for this payday. It’s a much larger purse than a regular show which they’ve drawn 40 too in recent years. Shouldn’t be much stopping them from being in that ballpark and knocking on the door of 50.

  12. Oct 2004 for me, although I'm certain I was involved around 2002 or 2003 making skins for the DTR2 mods.

  13. I always wondered ( I dont know how to do it) but put the announcer on scanner or radio. They are very good at what they do when the race gets going as well, but we cant hear them. Would be an option for folks to hear throughout the race. Just a thought

  14. C'mon everybody.. We all know that Syracuse.com was the best forum to get all of the 100% correct info on dirt racing in the Northeast. Just ask Bob Miller... LMAO

  17. Ahhh the chatroom days were. I was like 13 back then talking racing with you guys til 2-3 in the morning. The nice part about the chatroom was it allowed you to get to know everyone on here better. I met quite a few people I'm now proud to call friends in there. Miller, remember when you offered to pick me up for the rescheduled Super DIRT Series race at Hagerstown and my mom wouldn't let me go with a dude I met in a chatroom? Hahaha

  18. In my opinion it'll take more than a year or two to get fans and teams back every week. When people find something else to do on Saturday nights it takes time to get them back on a regular basis. I'm hoping Brett and his team see the fans and race teams increase as the season progresses and they see a return on their investment. There seems to be an upswing in attention and interest surrounding the Track of Champions!!!! One thing is for sure the racing was pretty damn good last year!!!!!!
