  1. Marc Johnson from 24th to second at Malta last night. Car was way off in heat but he passed the field and just ran out of laps, who says there is no passing on a slick track?

  4. With the July 4th holiday upon us, there is lots of racing in the next 7 day stretch. Some of us will be busy all week... myself included. Let's set the cut off point at Wednesday July 3rd and apply the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th to next weeks thread.

  5. Over the years the outlaw 200 has become more of a local event....less and less guys travel to it and realistically there are about 10 guys that are heavy favorites to win the race. Most of those 10 are or have been regulars at Fulton. The purse is very top heavy as well.

  6. I like Fulton Speedway anyhow. But part of the reason I went up to Fulton for the Thursday series show. Instead of a Saturday. I figured there would be some stiffer competition for the Gypsum train. It worked out well

  7. The spec head 358s are already competitive against the open small blocks and big blocks with the current rules. Big blocks have won most if not all of the 200s since they stopped allowing the late model small blocks, but each engine combo has a good chance of winning this race with the right driver and team utilizing it.

  9. More new clay was added to the speedway during the week to keep building a good base for the future, made for a bit bumpier racing condition then the normal BDS racing surface...Duane Howard in the Hansell 357 picked up his first BDS win of the year getting by young rising star Matt Stangle to get the job done...

  12. Doesn't mean squat when someone cuts a fast lap in the feature's first 5 laps vs someone who's car gets better towards the end.

  13. I think smaller . Some of the top big big block drivers/teams have small block rides available . But that still leaves out a lot of in betweens. Small blocks are allowed to race anyway

  14. I goofed last night when I got home. I posted this in the other thread.....The weather last night started out poorly at Mohawk but the efforts of the track crew, we made it happen. I was impressed with Demetrios Drellos' dominating the field at Mohawk for the entire modified feature. The track was heavy and it showed as it was hammer down for the features. The most impressive thing was the fans who stuck it out. One thing I've noticed being a race fan for almost 30 years, once we get to the track, we never want to leave and we always have something to talk about.

  15. This is a toss up. Mother Nature dealt us a tough hand right off the bat at Mohawk. We got the show in, bust our backsides in doing so. But watching Demetrus Drellos absolutely dominate the Mod feature was impressive. That being said, I'll say it was the fans who stuck with us tonight. That was impressive!

  16. I wouldn’t say he is off that much. Yes there have been times the car has looked down on power sometimes. But with 2 wins and Nothing worse than a 14 th on a track that has been notoriously tough to pass on. And he’s only 32 points off the lead.

  17. Being that I'm at Fulton every week I didnt think the crowd was too bad. You have to remember how big the grandstands are at Fulton compared to say Lol. Did I expect more people to show with no racing yea it would have been great but it didnt happen. The racing in the small blocks in my opinion is much better than the big block tour. There are more 358 drivers capable of winning versus going to the Big block tour races. You have to remember also this is really a bad time of year with graduation parties, weddings and whatever else people have going on that cuts into their racing budget. I perso

  18. Fulton is in the middle of big block country, they haven’t drawn a crowd for 358s since the 90s and not only is racing not in the same state as it was then, but 358s are nothing compared to what they used to be. There is a very large viewing difference between big blocks compared to the spec 358s throughout the whole night. I know, I know lap times are close blah blah, so are the mod lites at times....they look different. Besides dirtweek, the 358s won’t draw a sds type crowd until there is no big blocks here to watch instead.

  22. I choose what tires go around this track. I can assure you American Racer has called several times to offer their wares and their tire money as well. I happen to believe Hoosier has a much better tire for the Canandaigua surface regardless of the money. That doesn't mean that AR's are bad or that other tracks shouldn't use them. And newsflash - I choose to be affiliated with DIRTcar because the member tracks work together to offer multiple facilities to race at with a standard rules package. Whether you like or dislike the rules as they stand, the reality is it provides stability f

  23. Eh every track does this. Brewerton/Fulton is $10 more anytime the sprinters are there and $3 more anytime there is any other support class such as a demo derby or the crate models. I do not mind paying a little extra to see another class of racing. What really angers me is when admission is raised to pay for a fireworks show. That is some skullduggery at its finest. To charge your fans extra money to see fireworks that anyone within a 5-10 mile radius gets to watch for free.

  25. Once the sportsman started I was thinking the 3J is the favorite tonight. He’s the best on a slick track when no one else can pass
