Halmar doesn't have any Midgets & plus, Stewie didn't fair well there in his first attempt a few years back. He wasn't too thrilled with how things went compared to what it cost him for the ride. I would love to see him give it another shot though!

What's the price tag on a quality midget? Just wondering...

For a first class ride @ the CB, it generally costs $10,000-$12,000.

The guy won a WOO sprint race this year. I'm sure he would do just fine.

Winning a WoO Sprint Car event doesn't guarantee success @ the CB. This is arguably the hardest "A" Main in all of racing to qualify for. Several WoO Sprint "A" Main winners from the previous season, as well as former WoO Sprint Champions, don't make the Saturday Championship Feature each & every year.

Chili Bowl is an amazing event. The racing, the people, the atmosphere is 2nd to none. LarryWight will run well out there That is a great ride. Yeah I hear rides are in the $10,000 range. You meet a ton of high profile  people n our sport heading out there. Coolest thing I've ever been a part of for sure.

Is TMac teaming up with Bondio again? Now does it still cost someone that much to "buy" a ride if you've won there or do car owners generally seek out those who have had success. I'm surprised with the PPV and the amount of people attending that the payout isn't a lot more than what it is now.

This post could not be more spot on.I think the Chili Bowl is the toughest A-main to make of the season by miles and miles. Last year's race drew 326 Midgets and ringers from all kinds of sanctions and different divisions of racing.

That's what makes this event so special, the best in the business from every class of car out there... You need to be both 100% on point and get a little luck on your side just to make the feature... And then if you do, the guys that are there every year are just so good. And who wants to bet against Rico in a midget, he's freakin' amazing!

And Stew is an amazing talent but you guys that are always man crushing on him have to understand that one WoO win doesn't mean he's going to be able to win every race he enters.  The Chili Bowl is, as a few posters above noted, the hardest race to qualify for in the US. But it would be awesome to see Stew head down after the year he's had and give it a try.

I haven't heard whether Timmy is running the Andy Bondio 47x as of yet. As a former winner, I doubt he is buying a ride anymore. Why increase the payout, when tickets sell out 10 months in advance & there are record car counts every year?

I know that Brett Hearn's last visit to the Chili Bowl, 2005 or 2006, he was a teammate to Tony Stewart, Danny Lasoski & Bubba "The Lovesponge" Clem (Sirius Radio Personality/Bubba Raceway Park FL Owner). Brett & Don Krug (Hearn long time sponsor) split a $10,000 rental fee for the first class ride. This was a decade ago. Who knows what a ride of this caliber costs nowadays? Now mind you, the Saturday Championship 55 lapper only pays $10,000 to win. The thing is, it's not about the $$$$ with this race, it's about the Trophy! The Golden Driller!!! It's about the notoriety one gets from this race. It's about the great networking opportunities, the entire racing world is either there or they're watching. All eyes are on this one week a year! After Tim McCreadie won this race, it landed him an opportunity with Richard Childress. Kyle Larson was discovered there. Look at Rico Abreu now, after winning it last year. He's making his NASCAR Truck debut tonight @ Phoenix. It's worth the $$$!!!

It's less than 10 hours away according to google maps haha, like I said I have no excuse other than Oklahoma in January sounds rather crappy lol. What's the cost for tickets for the week?

I'm going for the first time in 2016. Put my name in for tickets back in march. Was lucky to get a pair in June. Ran $52924 for the pair. Flying out of plattsburgh to dfw and driving up to Tulsa. Probably the most iv ever spent to go see a race.the wait has only built on the excitement. Glad to hear tmac and Larry are going so I'll have some locals to cheer on. As a first timer this racing vacation which is still 2 months away has been all I can think about lol. If anybody else from NY is headed down it would be cool to meet up and represent the area.
