A $53,000 win and a $50,000 win in the last three weeks.

The amount of money a guy can make in a LM versus a Modified is staggering.

Funny, but it is true.  In about 2 min of perusing the Lucas series website, I see that McCreadie has raked in over $239,000 in 36 starts.

I think everyone on here already knows it. I'm sure driving a Monster Truck pays more, too.

The one big drawback is that making that requires a crapton of traveling.

But in all honestly, I think that unless you're going to finish top five on either tour, your best bet to make big money is to run a schedule like Brandon Overton or Mike Marlar, where you can hit basically every 20k+ show and not have yo worry about scheduling conflicts. Sure, you're not going to get any of that juicy show up money, but you also get more time off in the summer.

Why did guys like Richards and T-Mac switch over to Lucas from WoO?  Also wondering why Bloomquist is following the tour.  I thought he was only a big money race guy.  More show up loot?  Bigger paydays?   I agree.  "Congrates" to T-Mac.

Richards moved over because he left his father's house car and went to the team Brandon Sheppard ran Lucas with last year. There's a couple reasons he did that, but giving Lucas a shot was a minor part of that.

T-Mac switched last year, citing the chance to run more "crown jewel races" because Lucas sanctions more of them.

Bloomer follows because of the show up money. That's the reason most of them do a tour. They get 1k just for rolling in the gate. A few years ago when he was struggling on tour, he dropped off and went to an outlaw schedule from mid June to the end of the season.

If you include Tim's Lucas, WoO, Modified and a handful of other late model starts he is just shy of $300,000 as of 8/14 and so many big races left on his schedule

Topless 100 - $40,000

Hillbilly 100 - $25,000

World 100 - $70,000 total

Knoxville - $54,000 total

Brownstown - $22,000 total

Pittsburgher - $20,000

Oswego 200 - $50,000

DTWC - $100,000

World Finals - $24,000 total

East Alabama - $30,000 total

Thanks!  Why did Richards leave his family team?
