premiumdiesel 298
What happens in 21 if race tracks cannot have fans again in NY ? Will any tracks go under ? What is your thoughts ?

BobMiller 6,317
Expect more of the same in 2021. Early indicators are already in place. Cuomo announced a few weeks back that Halloween wouldn't be canceled, even though he highly recommended against it. A little over a week ago, Macy's announced that for the first time ever, there will be no Santa Claus visits for kids. Just today he said he strongly urged against large Thanksgiving gatherings The latest travel advisory for NY is back up to 45 states and provinces. Christmas isn't very far off in our futures. Makes me wonder what Cuomo and DeBlasio are going to do about Times Square and New Years Eve?

JAR1972 144
Already announced in September, Times Square ball drop will be virtual. Not being negative but what will be different in NY come spring time vs. right now? The curve has been flat for months, hospitals aren't over run, yet not much has changed when it came to fans in grandstands. Cuomo will get the bailout for NY he's been looking for after Nov. 3rd. That will fix his budget shortfall yet private businesses will still be struggling if not already out of business.

You obviously failed geometry and cant tell the difference between an arc and a straight line. Lol. I bet you think the earth is flat right? 2
DowntheBackStretch 1,631
We can remove Cuomo from the equation if we have a leader who will lead the country instead of playing on twitter like a child. Someone who will listen to advice from the experts who study infectious diseases. Following guidelines might be a good place to start. Leadership is key to having all businesses open. 7 2 2

Our other option will be far too busy making private deals with China, Russia, Ukraine and Iran, to worry about Covid. Shut it all back down, dark winter will lead to a darker summer. The plan your leader promotes every time he can manage to put more than 1 sentence together, is identical to the current one that he says isn’t working. As far as racing in NY in 2021, most working class people may have moved by then. Including racers. There’s plenty of racing elsewhere in the country.
chas71 973
My best guess is limiting grandstand to 25% of capacity in 2021 in NY.

Bigger questions, can race tracks survive on 25% capacity and how do tracks put on big paying shows with only 25% capacity?

He has a really tough time putting a sentence together. There are numerous examples of his failure to put together a coherent thought.

Cheryl 165
To answer the actual question, I would have to think that there are some tracks that will survive and others that won't...just like the other businesses out there. Which are which is probably up for debate.

I'm surprised you didn't lay it on really thick and say, 'HUGE SPIKE! positivity rates have almost doubled since August - people are dying!' The statement would be true according to this data but very very misleading. This graph shows the positivity rates increase from around 1% to about 1.75%. I'm definitely not losing sleep over this minor spike and like I said, what's the big deal?

That’s what is being pushed, unfortunately for you the number of people who give a shit is shrinking daily. It’s not going anywhere, time to get back to normal and live with it. We all take chances....I mean you could be an open highway for foreign extremists and have your head cut off in church. Oh wait your guy wants that too. Does the data supporting the dangers not count for anything? The spikes in other areas resulting is deaths? The data suggesting that lockdowns do not work? The fact that numerous countries have been locked down way tighter than us and are also having spikes? Or are those scientists and their data irrelevant because it doesn’t fit the agenda? PatsJags14 1,029
Forget president and governor just look at it with common sense. We’re heading into flu season and while we seem to have already seen the worst in New York numbers are going back up and other states are hitting highs. Ireland recently went into a 6 week lockdown to try and save Christmas. Europe is locking back down. It won’t be gone by spring time vaccine or not. Ideally it’s more controlled but this isn’t a short term thing. Hopefully by summer things will be more normal but it’s extremely optimistic to think tracks everywhere will be able to pack in fans come spring time. The super bowl is in February in Florida and they’ll be at 20% capacity with fans 6 feet apart in pods. Daytona 500 will have limited capacity with the same practice procedures they have now
