Merrittville’s Team of Officials is Looking for You

THOROLD, ONTARIO – Are you a racing enthusiast, and want to join a winning team?

Merrittville Speedway is looking for you for the 2018 Season.

Several key positions are available with no experience needed, we will train you.

Merrittville Speedway has one of the best Officiating teams on the dirt circuit, and this is your chance to join our winning team. We are currently Seeking 2 key officiating positions, and a co announcer.

1) Points, Line ups, Handicapping

The successful Candidate will be responsible for Nightly Driver Sign in, race night line ups, updating points and handicapping.

Qualifications:

– Ability to work as a team, and maintain a professional manner in a fun environment
– Basic knowledge of working with a computer

2) Timing and Scoring- Transponder Scorer

The successful candidate will oversee the computerized Live Timing and scoring of the racing program. He/She will work closely with both the Head Scorer and long hand Scorer and with the Race Director to ensure line ups are correct and feature finish results are correct.

Qualifications:

– Ability to work as a team, and maintain a professional manner in a fun environment
– Basic knowledge of working with a computer
– Training Provided

3) Scorer

The successful candidate will work closely with both the Head Scorer and long hand Scorer and with the Race Director to ensure line ups are correct and feature finish results are correct.

Qualifications:

– Ability to work as a team, and maintain a professional manner in a fun environment
– Training Provided

4) Co-Announcer

Merrittville Speedway uses a team of two Co-announcers that work together, to make the fan experience as fun and enjoyable as possible.

Qualifications:

Fun, energetic person with some racing knowledge

These are great opportunities to get more involved in Dirt track racing, and learn behind the scenes of what it takes to run a successful entertainment program. Merrittville Speedway will accept all applicants with or without experience. We look forward to you joining our team!!!!
