Rain Postponed RUSH Late Models Events Rat Eriez and Stateline Rescheduled

By MIKE LEONE

PULASKI, PA – Mother Nature certainly hasn’t been kind to many of the speedways under the Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC RUSH Racing Series powered by Pace Performance banner in 2018. Two in particular, Stateline and Eriez Speedways, each suffered another rainout this past weekend as neither have been able to complete an event thus far in 2018. Those rainouts included the Sweeney Late Model Tour events on Saturday (May 19) at Stateline and Sunday (May 20) at Eriez.

Thanks to both speedways, the events have been rescheduled with the Sweeney Tour making their first of two appearances at Eriez now on Sunday, June 10. Stateline’s “Bill Law Memorial” has been rescheduled to Saturday, July 28 and will now create the back-to-back weekend with Eriez like this past weekend as Eriez will hold their second Sweeney Tour event the following night on Sunday, July 29. All three shows are $2,000 to-win “Marquee” events.

“We have to thank the Scott and Rohrer Families for both allowing us to reschedule these shows,” stated RUSH Director Vicki Emig. “It’s been a challenging season thus far, and has really forced everyone to juggle their schedules around. The June 10 and July 28 make-up dates worked well with both the tracks’ schedules and ours. We also felt both of these dates should be conducive for our race teams as well.”

The Sweeney Tour will now resume action on June 1-2 with Friday night’s event at Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, NY for the second annual “Gary Montgomery Memorial” followed by Saturday night at Genesee Speedway in Batavia, NY. Both events will be $2,000 to-win “Marquee” events.
