FARLEY, IA – The World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series returns to Farley Speedway for the first time since 1994 on Friday, June 22. The event will be the fourth overall for the series at the now three-eights-mile. The previous three races for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series were run on the original half-mile configuration. The Outlaws were scheduled to race at Farley Speedway in 2004, but that event fell to inclement weather.
Last year, a trio of drivers won A-Feature events with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series in the state of Iowa. Donny Schatz was victorious twice, including in the Knoxville Nationals at the famed Knoxville Raceway. Brad Sweet also picked up a win at Knoxville, while Shane Stewart was victorious in the series debut at West Liberty Raceway.
Schatz leads the way for the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series return to Farley Speedway on the strength of 10 A-Feature wins as he chases his 10th championship. Brad Sweet, who has a couple of wins this season, is second in the standings, 82 markers behind Schatz.
David Gravel is third in points and has three wins thus far in 2018. Jason Johnson, who picked up his first two wins of the season recently, is fourth in the standings. Daryn Pittman is fifth in points on the strength of three wins, with fellow Oklahoma native Shane Stewart in sixth, just 12 points behind him.
Sheldon Haudenschild rides seventh in points and has won four races this season. Logan Schuchart is eighth in points, with rookie Ian Madsen ninth and Kraig Kinser 10th.
Jason Sides and Greg Wilson are a couple more of the veteran drivers on the road this season with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series. Logan Schuchart, Brent Marks, Jacob Allen and Clyde Knipp are three of the younger drivers on the tour.
Steve Kinser, the 20-time World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series champion, was victorious in the series last visit to Farley Speedway in 1994. Kinser also won in 1993 at the track, while three-time series titlist and fellow Hall of Famer Sammy Swindell was victorious in the inaugural Outlaws race at Farley in 1992.
