VERNON, NY – Mother Nature has the most wins in 2018 in the Northeast and claimed another victory Sunday, as track officials were forced to cancel racing at Utica Rome Speedway Sunday with King Of Dirt Racing coming to town. Fear not race fans all divisions of KOD racing have been rescheduled at the action track of the east including a huge kickoff to the month of July.
The Elmo’s Speed Supply King Of Dirt Racing 358 Modified Series presented by Boss Mechanical at Utica Rome Speedway will throw down for the crown on Sunday July 1st. As tour announcer Mike Warren would say, a shower of 358 Modified power will send a shockwave through the action track of the east. So far there have been two KOD Small Block Modified tour races at Utica with two different winners.
Andy’s Speed Shop King Of Dirt Racing Sportsman Modified Series presented by Dodson Construction will accompany the Small Block Modified tour on July 1st for 30 laps of action. Currently Josh Sunn leads the point standings over Adam Pierson, Connor Cleveland, and Chad Edwards. Cleveland is seeking his second crown, while other drivers are throwing down for their first crown.
The King Of Dirt Racing Pro Stock tour presented by Crane’s Outdoor Power Equipment has been rescheduled to July 22nd for 30 laps of full-fender action. With Utica already having the Kotary Memorial race on tap paying $1,000 to win and $100 to start on July 1st, the KOD full-fender tour was slotted into a different day, but encourages all drivers to attend Utica for a great race to test for their July 22nd tour points race.
“Bill and Kim have had such horrible weather this year, worse than another other track in my opinion. We’re fortunate enough to work with them and reschedule though to provide drivers a tour stop at a solid facility. So far next week looks great for some racing,” said KOD promoter Rob Hazer.
Home Track points have been figured into the point standings for both the 358 Modified and Sportsman tours. A drivers best six finishes will ultimately count, but currently only two races have been applied. This is to ensure each driver has the same amount of races counted towards home track bonus points.
