Racing Wars Escalate as Weekly Competitors Challenge the Super DIRTcar Invaders Thursday at OCFS

MIDDLETOWN, NY – The traveling racing warriors of the Super DIRTcar Modified Series roll into town Thursday, July 19 ready to battle the weekly Big-Block Modified competitors on the five-eighths-mile Orange County Fair Speedway’s Hard Clay track.

It’s the “Battle of the Midway” headlined by a 100-lap, $10,000-to-win feature race that’s bound to have fans spell-bound from green flag to checkered flag with high-speed drama and excitement.

Among the Super DIRTcar Series star drivers are three expatriates from Orange County’s weekly racing Modified corps who are no strangers to Victory Lane. Returning to Middletown and eager to resume their winning ways are Stewart Friesen, a five-time Orange County winner including the 2017 Eastern States 200; Danny Johnson, 22 times a victor on the Hard Clay and a six-time Eastern States 200 winner; and Brett Hearn, Orange County’s all-time winning driver with 304 victories, 22 track point championships in two divisions, and the 12-time winner of the Eastern States 200.

But they’ll be up against some 50 other top racers, each looking for victory in the biggest DIRTcar Series race of the mid-summer.

An open competition (providing the entrants meet Orange County rules) Small-Block Modified $3,000-to-win race is the undercard. Should one driver win both feature races, there’s a special $3,000 bonus award.

Time trials, heat and consolation races will set the fields for both feature races.
