Matt Larrivee Claims Nostalgia Bounty; Stanley Takes Modified Win At Paradise Speedway

GENEVA, NY – The Dirt Modified Nostalgia Tour made it’s first of two visits this season to the Paradise Speedway in Geneva, NY this past Saturday night.

The DMNT was granted permission to run two separate features by the track separating the slower Nostalgia division from the Modifieds.

Forrestport, NY native Matt Larrivee would comfortably win the Nostalgia class and cash in the $100.00 bounty in the process. Jumping to the lead immediately from his pole starting spot Larrivee would lead all 20 to claim his first feature win of the year. Tim Hegarty of Kingston, On tried valiantly to keep pace but would eventually fade, coming home in second spot. Jeff Mitchell of Avoca, NY would bring his six cylinder powered machine home in third place.

John Stanley of Kingston, On would claim the rain shortened Modified feature with Nathan Berry of Athens, On and Horseheads, NY’s Bob Johnson in tow.

Paradise Ponderings: Heat wins went to Jon Kuleszo, Larrivee and Megan Ciglich who was victorious in the all female heat race…Jeff Mitchell towing 4 plus hours after racing in Lernerville, PA the night before…Jon Kuleszo would have a distributor malfunction and would pilot his wife Michele’s car in the feature…Former Mid State President Brad Litzenberger would be a surprise addition with his 6 cylinder powered coupe…Doug Elkins on hand to do pre and post race interviews…Ovid, NY’s Wendy Goodman making her first ever appearance and got better lap after lap…Bob Johnson completely converting over to the DMNT spec, the first American car to do so in the Modified class…the series returns to Paradise Speedway on August 4th and then moves on to Utica Rome on August 5th.
