CORNWALL, ONT – Cornwall Motor Speedway will host one the most unique shows of 2018 as both Draper Doors Canadian Nationals Modified Series and Race for the Cure Sportsman Series will be on tap along with a complete show in both Pro-Stock and Mini-Stock. The fine folks of Twinleaf Stores will sponsor the event.
Winner of round #1, Steve Bernard will want to pursue his success at Cornwall this season, having good results in every marquee event he showed up. Bernard had best over 31 more competitors including Cornwall’s current point’s leader Carey Terrance that was runner up to Bernard on opening night. A similar field of modified is expected to the second leg of the Draper Doors Canadian Nationals Series, a 100-lap event will be run.
To add to the uniqueness of the evening, the Sportsman will not only run for a 100-lap feature, but they will be roofless, a new initiative at Cornwall that has spark interest over the last weeks for this second race of the Race for the Cure Sportsman. The first race was a barnburner with Shane Pecore and Johnathon Ferguson getting together at the end of the race, offering the win to Martin Pelletier. A strong field of 43 cars was on hand and we expect similar numbers for Sunday.
The Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock and Tracy Wheeler Assist2Sell Mini-Stock will also be in action.
