Northeast Late Model Alliance and 417 Bus Lines Lightning Sprint Tour this Sunday at Cornwall Motor Speedway

CORNWALL, ONT – Cornwall Motor Speedway will host another great night of racing this coming Sunday as the Northeast Late Model Alliance will be in town along with the Lightning Sprints, Modified, Sportsman and Mini-Stock. The great folks of Archers Poultry Farms will sponsor the evening.

The Northeast Late Model Alliance is a new series for 2018, it regroups drivers from the Brighton Ontario Speedway and Central New-York area as well. The Late Models are powered by a 604 Crate Engine. We are expecting between 16 to 21 cars for the 35-lap event paying $1,200 to win and nearly $10,000 in total purse. Charlie Sandercock leads the way over Kyle Sopaz and Sam Pennachio.

The Lightning Sprints will also be in town this Sunday for their second visit of the season, part of the 417 Bus Line Lightning Sprint Tour, this will be the 4th race in the Series. Yanick Poirier had won the caution free event back in June, another 25-lap event is on the card for them.

The Polar Sound DJ Services Modified will be in action with 30 laps, Carey Terrance extended his lead to 69 points over Kyle Dingwall as Chris Raabe, Louie Jackson and Corey Wheeler, completes the top 5.

The gap has closed in the Next Level Home Improvement Sportsman, a combination of bad luck for the leader Shane Pecore and a win for Brianna Ladouceur last Sunday, enabled a great point’s race for the rest of the year, Pecore has seen his comfortable lead shrink to only 5 points, the feature will be 25 laps.

Four drivers are still in the hunt for the Tracy Wheeler Assist2Sell Mini-Stock as we are looking to crown a new champion in between Chris James, Skylar Ladouceur, Justin Jodoin and Alexis Charbonneau, 15 laps will be the distance.

The pit gate will open at 3pm access price at 20$; general admission will be opening at 4:30pm with entry prices set at 30$ for adults, 10$ for seniors 65 years and plus and kids 16 years and under can enter for 2$. Heat races are scheduled to start at 6:30pm.
