RANSOMVILLE, NY – Investor’s Service, Bailey Brothers Landscaping, and Firth Jewelers present the racing action that features the inaugural visit by the Bellinger Electric Inc (BEI) Lightning Series for the Sportsman, the King of the Hill 100 for the KiPo Chevrolet Street Stocks, and the season championship event for the Gippster’s Collision 4 Bangers.

The King of the Hill will forever be known as the Sean Letts Memorial King of the Hill, to remember the life of former racer Sean Letts who passed away unexpectedly this past March. Sean raced for many years in the 4 Bangers, Street Stocks, and Sportsman division and the King of the Hill was a race that was special to Sean. Letts and his #SL40 was a fan favorite at the Big R. Letts was a graduate of Lew-Port Central and attended the NASCAR Technical Institute in Mooresville, North Carolina.

Making their inaugural visit to the Big R is the BEI Lightning Series for the Sportsman. To honor Sean’s memory, the BEI Lightning Series will race 40 laps in honor of Sean’s race number. The BEI Lightning Series event will also be giving away two guaranteed starting spots in the 602 Winter Nationals at the North Florida Speedway in February 2019. Going into the event at Ransomville, 2017 BEI Lightning Series Champion Chad Chevalier from Port Colborne, Ontario leads Niagara Falls, NY pilot and Ransomville regular James Henry by 14 points (254-243). Three-time and reigning Genesee Speedway titlist Kyle Inman from Darien, NY is just 19 points out of the lead with Ransomville, NY driver and 2018 Ransomville Sportsman Track Champion Brett Senek sits fourth in points, trailing Chevalier by 27. The top five in points is rounded out by 2018 New Humberstone Speedway champion Cody McPherson from St. Catharines, ONT, who trails Chevalier by 40 points. The top 11 in points are in total separated by just 99 points. So far in 2018, nearly 70 different Sportsman drivers have received points with the BEI Lightning Series.

The annual Street Stock King of the Hill 100 will feature the top Street Stock drivers from Humberstone, Merrittville, and Ohsweken Speedway making their annual trip over the ditch to compete against our track regulars, including 2018 track champion Pete Stefanski, and making his return, 2017 divisional titlist Jake Stefanski, who is driving the car normally campaigned by Cory Sawyer. Hometrack rules from Humberstone, Merrittville, and Ohsweken may be followed. Any cars utilizing GM Crate Motors must follow 602 crate rules to GM specs (ie. Valve Springs, etc). Metric cars must weigh 3100, 3200 for Camaro or Leaf cars. Cars with power glides must weigh 50 lbs more. Any questions regarding the rules can message the Ransomville Speedway Facebook Page.

The Sean Letts Memorial King of the Hill will also feature the 20-lap Championship finale for the Gippster’s Collision 4 Bangers. The highly-contested finale sees Matt Hornquist, Chad Desso, and Ryan Plante are in a tight point’s battle. Nick Tarnowski, Cole Susice, Ashley Blech and the rest of the 4 Bangers are all looking to move up in the standings and grab the final checkered flag of the season.
