Genesee Speedway Open Practice Now Delayed Until May 1st

BATAVIA, NY – A winter-like weekend in late April has forced the first green flag of 2019 to wait until May to drop.

Despite having all intentions to hold the open practice and the Spring Fling Enduro this past Saturday, morning snow showers combined with cold conditions kept the Genesee Speedway from opening up. With many teams still looking to shake the rust off, a mid-week practice session has been established.

This Wednesday, May 1, the Genesee Speedway will be open for a practice for all interested divisions. Gates will open at 5:00, with the green flag waving from 7:00-10:00. For most teams, this will be their first time on the track with the season opener just days away.

On Saturday, May 4, Stirling Lubricants and Champion Racing Oil will present the 2019 Season Opener, featuring the Five Star Racing Divisions of the Genesee Speedway. With racing starting at 6:00, come check out the Late Models, Sportsman, Street Stocks, Mini Stocks and Bandits, all with many past champions clashing with new names to the divisions. Pit gates will open at 4:00, while grandstands open up at 5:00. As an added bonus, the first 100 kids in will get a free grab bag , compliments of Dale Valley Diecast.

The other holdover from the rainout on Saturday is the Spring Fling Enduro 100 that has now been rained out twice. The new date is still in the works before it can be confirmed but will be announced in the coming days. For more information, visit www.Genesee-Speedway.com.
