DUNDEE, NY – After a one year layoff in 2017, Outlaw Speedway owner, Tyler Siri and his staff welcomed back the Short Track Super Series to the track last year. The highly popular, Brett Deyo promoted STSS converged on the Yates County Oval in a unique mid-week special event pitting many of the Outlaw Speedway regular competitors such as Super Matt Sheppard, A.J Slideways Alan Johnson, The Hurricane Steve Paine, “The Doctor” Danny Johnson, local Dundee native Brady Fultz and track owner, Siri against the likes of standout traveling series drivers Andy Bachetti, Anthony Perrigo, Jerry Higbie, Mike Mahaney and Stewart Friesen who came away with the win last year.
“We are extremely excited to have Brett Deyo and his STSS make a return trip to Outlaw Speedway in 2019, stated track owner, Tyler Siri. The guys that travel and compete in the Short Track Super Series are all top notch drivers with good equipment and it is going to be a challenge for any of our Modified regular competitors to pull off the win against the invaders that will be coming to the track.”
Brett Deyo is equally excited about his touring group making a return engagement to Outlaw Speedway in 2019. “The teams that follow the series are looking forward to heading back to the fast 4/10 of a mile at Outlaw Speedway, claimed Deyo. The track conditions have been awesome in 2019 and Tyler has a group of his regular drivers including his own team that are going to be tough to beat when we head up there on June 19.”
Outlaw Speedway’s STSS event will be a 50 lap feature event paying a huge purse including $5,000 to win, $1,000 for tenth and $400 just to take the green. A staggering amount of bonuses and incentives will be shared by numerous drivers at the completion of the event.
Matt Sheppard was the winner of the 2016 STSS event at the Outlaw Speedway piloting the Norm Hansell owned #357 machine. After wheeling the potent Vic Coffey owned and crew chiefed, Sweeteners Plus #92 to a near win last year, Sheppard will be there with his own team looking for revenge after a late race flat tire ended any chance he had of beating Friesen last year.
Also on the card it will be event #1 in the Outlaw Speedway Crate Sportsman Series presented by American Racer Tires. Dave Marcuccilli picked up the overall point title in the 7 event series last year and it is expected Marcuccilli will be back to try and nail down event #1 in the six event series that will pay $2,000 to the top point finisher at seasons end. 2018 Trach Champion Chris Fisher, Brian Fish, Tommy Collins and 2017 Outlaw Speedway Track Champion, Karl Comfort will be on hand all looking for the top prize.
The classy looking Stan’s No Tubes Street Stocks led by such Outlaw Speedway top competitors as Dylan Cecce, Carl Cleveland, Jarred Hill, CJ Guererri, Quinn Sutherland and 2017/2018 Track Champion, Glen Whritenour will also be on the card for the June 19 event. The Mighty 4 Cylinder Division along with the Marion Decker Insurance Hobby Stocks will round out the 5 Star Show.
This will be the only event held at the track during this particular week as Outlaw Speedway will lay dormant on Friday, June 21 in honor of the graduating seniors throughout the region.
