MIDDLETOWN, NY – Scouting is a century-old American tradition. Orange County Fair Speedway is proud to recognize all scouts and their leaders by inviting them to attend the races Saturday, June 22 free of charge. All scouts—Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Brownies, and Girl Scouts—in uniform (or partial uniform) will be admitted free. In addition, scouts will receive a free souvenir as they enter.
All four of Orange County’s weekly racing division will be in action on Scout Night: The earth-shaking Big-Block Modifieds; the slightly less powerful Small-Block Modifieds; the unpredictable Sportsman; and the Street Stocks, the track’s only full-fender class. Preliminary qualifying activities and races will set the fields for the evening’s feature events. For the Big-Block Modifieds, that’s a 30-lap feature race with $3,300 in prize money awaiting the victor. The small-Block Modified 25-lap feature winner earns $2,000, while the Sportsman victor nets $1,000 for being first across the finish line in their 20-lap feature race, and there’s $500 awaiting the winner of the 15-lap Street Stock main.
Admission prices for the big June 22 race meet remain at $20 adults, with children 10 and under $5.00. There is a $1.00 car charge in the Drive-In section. Race fans will receive a free program as they pass through the turnstiles.
The competitor pits open at 2:30 pm; spectator gates and Drive-In at 4:00 pm. Racing begins at 6:00 pm.
