New Promotional Team Takes Over Penn Can

SUSQUEHANNA, PA – Susquehanna natives, Gary and Eileen Folk along with their son Gary Folk Jr. will be taking the famed speedway into its 65th year and beyond. The 3/8ths mile dirt oval track will breathe life once again in 2020.

Gary Sr. stated, “We know this is a big year for the track and the local community. Our plans will be a season long celebration to recognize its past and to celebrate its future. Opening day plans will be announced over the next few months so everyone can mark their calendars.”

Two items on the agenda are the return to handicapping for the drivers and a cash payout format for all the race teams.

Gary Jr. stated, “Drivers and owners I have talked to voiced their opinions and we are here to listen. We plan on making decisions to benefit the speedway and everyone connected with it. Gary Sr. and I have a plan going forward and with the Beavan family supporting us, the skies the limit.”

The Beavan family has gone through and painstakingly evaluated each candidate who contacted them. All the candidates were qualified and choosing the new promoter was a huge undertaking. The speedway will celebrate its 65th year of racing as a true family affair.

In the near future, there will be a meeting announcement for past employees who are interested in returning along with anyone else interested in working at the speedway. As news becomes available, it will be released through the Facebook page and penncanspeedway.net, the official Penn Can Speedway website.
