The ‘Gobbler’ Ready to go Green Saturday at Accord; Watch Live on DTD Tv

ACCORD, NY – Now that the Thanksgiving feast is in the books, it’s time to loosen up the belts after a great meal and hit the track for one final time in 2019.

In less than 24 hours, the Accord Speedway hosts the final outdoor event of the year as the big/small-block Modifieds highlight a four-division program at the quarter-mile.  Modified drivers are ready to do battle for $5,000 with $300 going to each driver in the field of the 50-lap feature.

Andy Bachetti is the defending race winner of the last ‘Gobbler’ run back in 2017.  Other winners of the race include Anthony Perrego, who has won it twice, Danny Johnson and Jackie Brown Jr.  Can a new driver etch their name into history or will one of the past winners find their way back to victory lane?

During the 2019 season, wins in the Modified division were hotly contested.  Only four drivers graced victory lane on more than one occasion.  Bachetti took home the biggest win of the year back in July in winning the Battle of the Bullring for the Short Track Super Series.  He also captured a regular Friday night event late in the season.  Other multi-time winners include Michael Storms, Jimmy Wells and Rich Ricci Jr.

Single victories went to Kyle Van Duser, Jesse Marks, Danny Tyler, Nick Johnson, Mike Ricci and Alex Yankowski.

Saturday’s Sportsman 30-lap feature pays $1,500 and $100 to take the green for 30-laps of action.  Also on the schedule for the afternoon are the Street Stocks going 25-laps with $500 to win and an Enduro paying $1,000 with a minimum of 50 cars entered.

As part of the afternoon festivities, Santa Claus is handing out candy canes to children as they come through the gates.  He’ll be handing the ‘Gobbler’ stickers as well.  As part of his duties, he’ll be collecting new, unwrapped toys which will be donated to local families in need.  All donations are appreciated.

Pit gates open at 9 a.m. on November 30 while spectator gates swing open at 10 a.m.  The drivers meeting is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. with hot laps beginning promptly at Noon.  Racing is slated to take the green at 1 p.m.

Adult general admission is $25 while seniors are just $23.  Reserved seating is available $27.  Kids (11 & Under) are just $5.  If you’d like indoor seating those are available for $35.  To reserve your seat call the speedway at (845) 626-1142.

Pit admission for the event is $40.
