AKWESASNE, NY – With 2 events in the books at the Mohawk International Raceway CKON 97.3 FM will be on hand for a full show on Friday night. These great folks along with the great fans will be treated to some great racing especially in the 358 Modified division, where 2 drivers have made a statement, letting everyone know they’ll be the ones to beat in 2017.
Tim Fuller has clearly been the dominant force in 2017 winning both events to kick off the year I dominant fashion. The Edwards, NY native has been perfect in his St. Lawrence Radiology, G and R Auto Parts number 19 Bicknell chassis. In victory lane after his opening day win told everyone that he will be on hand every Friday and with his great start is an obvious favorite for the track title.
The 5 time and reigning 358 Modified champion Billy Dunn has finished runner up to Fuller in both events in 2017. The Watertown, NY driver isn’t phased by Fuller’s early dominance as he knows it’s a long season and has confidence in his Laurent Ladouceur owned #23 Mr. Radiator Bicknell. Dunn has an incredible record in 5 seasons at MIR including 5 consecutive championships, 4 Unique Ecigs titles and 21 feature wins which include 2 Memorial Cup victories.
With those 2 drivers leading the way others like Corey Wheeler, who’s fresh off a win at Cornwall on Sunday night, Chris Raabe who is 2 for 2 at Airborne Park Speedway and “The Doctor” Danny Johnson who will be aboard the Roy Delormier owned 22D all season at MIR, will be gunning for the top 2 drivers which will make this weekends events exciting to say the least.
