Mike Turner Pays Homage to his Father as Western Pennsylvania Teams Band Together for the Mile

By JOHN DOUGLAS JR. Hailing from Herman, Pa., Mike Turner made the trek to the Syracuse Mile for the final Super DIRT Week held on at the historic ‘Moody Mile.’ This event for Turner isn’t just about running the mile one final time, but something much deeper. Turner’s father Bill passed away before ever getting to come to Syracuse. So Turner connected with Rick Regalski two years ago and they made the trip for the first time. Now with the final race at the New York State Fairgrounds, Regalski has again helped Turner to make the trip. Along with others…More

Rain Hinders Friday at the Mile – DTD Exclusive

Dippel dinged at the Mile; Teenager dropped to last in 358-modified time trials

Tyler Dippel made a splash at the Moody Mile yesterday when he parked his 358 Modified on the front row for Saturday’s Salute to the Troops 150. His time of 31.189 seconds was beat only by pole-sitter Billy Dunn. The celebration was squashed a day later when the Twin 20 line-ups were released by DIRTcar. Dippel is slated to start dead last in heat race #1 after being stripped of his qualifying time by DIRTcar when they found his fuel did not comply with DIRTcar rules. Dippel’s Syracuse letdown isn’t the first time he has been the center of controversy…More
