DTDMike: RT @worldofoutlaws: The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car Feature is getting ready to push off! #WoOSTPWEEDSPORT, N. Y – Musco Lighting may light up the track for Friday Night Lights during NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week, but it’s Club Wago that lights up the infield. Fan-created groups like Club Wago form an essential part of Super DIRT Week culture, creating an active nightlife for race fans that makes the event, which runs this year from Wednesday, Oct. 3, through Sunday, Oct. 7, at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, more than just about what happens on the track. “It’s the week of the year when you see people you only see for that one…More

There wasn’t supposed to be much on-track action Wednesday on the Mile at Syracuse. In fact, the only scheduled on-track activity was set to be a Modified happy hour practice that was slated to hit the famed speedway at 3pm. Unfortunately, mother nature had different plans, washing out all on-track activities for Wednesday. The rain didn’t slow down our photographers, who were on the scene in the inspection line and the pit area grabbing some cool photos from the days activities. The sun was setting over the New York State Fairgrounds when Billy Decker finally rolled out to make his qualifying attempt Thursday afternoon. Many of the pole-favorites made their time trial runs early in the session, and it was Australian hot-shoe Peter Britten atop the charts when Decker made his run. Britten outlasted dozens of competitors on the top of the charts, but Decker’s lap of 32.997 knocked the popular Aussie to second. Decker was the only driver to crack the 33-second barrier en route to his fifth career modified pole at Syracuse. The final driver to take to the…More
Mike Perrotte was transported to a local medical center after falling from his team’s hauler Friday night. A crowd gathered around the Adirondack Auto race hauler as medical staff worked with Perrotte following the pit accident during the races at the New York State Faigrounds. Reports came back from the hospital that Perrotte allegedly suffered a concussion, laceration to the head, broken ribs and a broken wrist in the accident. Close friend Frank Cozze was on hand when the accident occurred, and he fairly reluctantly agreed to climb into the car under unusual circumstances. We all wish Mike a speedy…More
ELBRIDGE, N.Y. — Oct. 6, 2012 — On a frigid Saturday night, Steve Kinser found a familiar, yet distant, place. Mired in a slump since late July, Kinser braved the chilly and windy weather at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park, where he capitalized in traffic to pass polesitter Chad Kemenah and pull away to his fourth World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series win of the season at the NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week XLI event. It was Kinser’s 12th victory in 35 World of Outlaws events at the fast 5/8-mile and it snapped a 40-race winless streak in points events. “We’ve…More
