Over the past several seasons at Brockville Speedway, Glen Gould helped make the Brockville Speedway Kids Club something to look forward to each week for the younger generation of race fans. He would have a pair of bikes to give away to a BOS Kids Club member, a boys bike and a girls bike were donated to the track virtually ever night. The sudden passing of Mr. Gould back in October was felt throughout the racing community as he touched many racers with his friendship.
Looking to continue the tradition that Mr. Gould had set, and to honour his name, the Brockville Speedway will now have the Glen Gould Memorial Kids Club, and Dale Pasternak of Napa Auto Parts Brockville was the first to step to the plate to donate a pair of bikes. An overwhelming and continuous show of faithful BOS supporters soon came on board, and now every night in the 2013 season there will be a pair of bikes given away to members of the Kids Club.
Other bike donators include Dana Aikins from the Glen Gould 8a Sportsman Team, Tim Mockler and Steve Barber from Moreland’s Repair Shop and Barber Racing Team, Tyler Lambert of Arbuthnot Racing, Dean Billings of Billings Automotive, Craig Revelle of Finish Line Web Design, Ralph Murphy of King Edward Auto Parts, Danny O’Brien and the 17d Race Team, Jessica Power Racing in Memory of Glen Gould, Matt Smith, Ryan Poole Racing, Mike and Lori LaSalle of Northwood2 Construction/LaSalle Motorsports, Fast Eddie Race Team, Gilco Racing, Kim, Lisa and Jon in Memory of David Mills, Randy Earl of Burnside Windows, Bill and Shelley Plooy, Jared Hunter, Steve and Ann Polite of Polite’s Sand and Gravel and Henry Boer of 1000 Islands RV. The Rookie team consisting of Ron and Kurtis Daye, Tim Rhoden and Tyson Slinger have also graciously donated a pair of bikes as well as Evoy Racing, Tyler’s Unique Auto & Trailer Sales and Dale & Tammie Kirkland.
Dana Aikins team will kick off the season, donating bikes for the Glen Gould Kids Club on the 1st Annual Glen Gould Memorial opening night at the BOS on Saturday, May 11th. A complete lineup of donators for race nights throughout the season will be announced at a later date. If at any time during the season, the bikes will be held until the final points night of the season, with several bikes to be given out to Kids Club Members.
