Humberstone Speedway dodged the forecast and evaded the rain that surrounded the area and was able to complete the entire racing program on Friday May 13th. Racers Brad Rouse (Sportsman), Darren Peters ( FASTRAK Late Models), Rob Murray ( Street Stock), Rocco Conte ( Mini Stock), Rick Book (Pro Trucks) and Mike Larrocque ( Pure Stock) all made visits to Humberstone Speedway’s Victory Lane for the first time in 2011. FULTONVILLE – For the sixth time in as many weeks, a different winner visited Victory Lane in the modified division at Glen Ridge Motorsports Park. Elmo Reckner took the lead on lap five and held off a late-race charge by Jackie Brown to earn the win. Brown finished second, Craig Hanson was third, Don Ronca was fourth and Kenny Tremont Jr. was fifth. On Friday night he got the best medicine the doctor could order as he picked up the 35 lap Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified victory at the Brewerton Speedway. Well, I wish I had more control over the weather. The wet grounds have really plagued April and have had an influence on the early May shows… With that said, a few tracks have been able to hit the ground running. Glen Ridge – Mike Romano and Jake Spraker have put forth great efforts, having a couple of banner nights. By Brian Liskai ATTICA, Ohio – A late race caution gave Stewart Brubaker a clear track just as it looked like he might lose the lead in the 305 Engine Builders Challenge at Attica Raceway Park Friday. Heavy lapped traffic allowed former track champion Caleb Griffith to close quickly on Brubaker, who had led from the drop of the green. Australian V8 Dirt Modified Champion Peter Britten behind the wheel of the Troyer, No.21A grabbed the lead on lap 6 of the 35 lap Tracey Road Equipment Big Block Modified and looked to be heading to the easy win. A late charge by Billy Decker had all the fans on their feet with Britten picking up the wildly popular win by 0.824 at the checkers over Decker.
