Ransomville, NY – Thursday, May 12th, 2011 – The long awaited 54th season opener is slated to take place this Friday, May 13th. Originally scheduled for Friday, May 6th – the opener was delayed one week due to the severe weather within Western New York in late April. On tap include the Mighty Taco Modifieds, Original Pizza Logs Sportsman, Ki-Po Chevrolet Streetstocks, Bobcat of Buffalo Fireball Class, and Gippsters Collision 4 Bangers. Rich Vleck, ROCHESTER, NY (May 9, 2011)- After getting the Patriot Sprint Tour era underway this past Saturday in a co-sanctioned event, the PST gets the regular season underway with two of the biggest shows of the season at a pair of popular facilities. This Saturday and Sunday, the Patriots make their only stops of 2011 at the newly-named Canandaigua Motorsports Park and New Cayuga County Speedway. The CRSA sprint cars make their first of four scheduled appearances Friday night at I 88 Speedway in Afton, New York. The popular sprint car club joins the modified, sportsman, street stock, and FWD 4 cylinder classes. Admission will be $12, 8 and under free. Family Fun 5 Pack: 2 Adult and 3 Children (18 and under) admission, 5 hot dogs and 5 sodas for $30. Gate and concessions open at 5:00 pm. Racing starts at 7:00 pm.
Susquehanna, Pa… The month of May has reached its mid-point at Penn Can Speedway with another action packed night of racing planned at the three eighths mile oval. Friday the Thirteenth will bring on Freaky Friday at the track. Matt Sheppard set the tone early in modified practice at the New York State Fairgrounds. Sheppard asserted himself early as the pace-setter laying down a lap of 31.141 seconds around the 1-mile track. Fifty six modifieds took to the speedway this afternoon mostly looking to shake their cars down for tomorrow’s practice and time trials.
