DIRTcar Northeast is prepared to announce what is happening to the $25,000 that Stewart Friesen was fined after winning the SEF Small Engine Fuels 200 in Syracuse last month. The money is being split evenly among the 15 teams already receiving points fund money at the year-end banquet. It equals $1,650 per driver.

Prior to the announcement there was vocal speculation as to what would happen to the money the sanctioning body kept from race-winning Friesen after his fuel cell failed post-race inspection. Some spoke out of a conspiracy by DIRTcar to save money while others suggested the money should be shared among legal finishers of the 200.

The fine dished out to Friesen was the largest in DIRTcar history, and the increase in points payout nearly doubles the amount some drivers will receive.
