DTD Awards are BACK! Nominations to open December 1st, and the DTD Awards take on a new look in 2011

Good day racing fans,

We are excited to welcome the return of the Dirt Track Digest Awards for 2011. The awards were a popular feature on DirtTrackDigest.com for a few years, and we have decided they needed to return!

Nominations for the 2011 DTD Awards will open on December 1st, in a variety of categories, and our procedure for voting is changing. The awards have been separated to feature DTD Awards, and DTD Fan Choice Awards.

We separated the categories to provide more credibility in the value of the awards themselves. Popularity will always be important in racing, but we want our winners to feel they were the most deserving recipient.

Nominations will be open to everyone on the Dirt Track Digest forum – www.dirttrackdigest.com/DTD . If you have trouble finding it, visit www.dirttrackdigest.com and click the link at the top of the page for the forum. If you are not a member of the Dirt Track Digest forum, you can email your nomination to adamrossenterprises@gmail.com .

The panel of voters represents decades of racing experience and knowledge, and a selection of people who attend dozens of races every year. The panel includes:

The DTD Awards will be determined by the vote of the esteemed panel. Any ties will be broken by me. The DTD Fan Choice Awards will be voted on and nominated by our great racing community.

La Salle, IL (May 12, 2012) – Don O’Neal of Martinsville, IN continued his recent hot streak on the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series tour by winning for the third time in his last four races. Danny Johnson, of Rochester, N.Y., received top honors for winning his fifth overall Hoosier Tire-VP Racing Fuels DIRTcar 358-Modified Series championship in the Mike Payne-owned Bicknell. David Hebert, of St. Damase, Quebec, raced to the top of the weekly Mr. DIRTcar 358-Modified standings.
