RL PROMOTIONS ANNOUNCES 2007 SCHEDULE FOR CRESCO SPEEDWAY
CRESCO, Iowa (Feb. 10) -- Officials from RL Promotions and the Cresco Speedway in Oskaloosa, Iowa, have announced a tentative schedule of events for the 2007 racing season at the Howard County 4/10-mile high-banked clay oval.
A new era will begin as the historic facility in northeast Iowa switches from Sundays to Fridays for regular weekly shows. An exciting season of racing under the United States Racing Association banner will kick off on Friday, April 13, with the season opener for the USRA Casey’s General Stores Weekly Racing Series featuring USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks and Outlaw Hobbys.
On Friday, April 20, the high-powered O’Reilly Auto Parts United States Modified Touring Series rolls into town for a $2,000-to-win shootout featuring the best Modified drivers in the nation. Seven-time O'Reilly USMTS champion Kelly Shryock is expected to be among the stellar field of stars and cars as he looks to defend his crown against the likes of Tommy Myer, Brad McEwan, Al Hejna, Zack VanderBeek, Mark Noble, Dean Mahlstedt and many more of America's Modified top guns.
And speaking of high-powered ... the USRA Late Models will make two stops at Cresco in 2007. The first will happen on May 4, then again on Aug. 10 with some of the hottest drivers from throughout America's heartland.
The annual Howard County Fair race will take place on Sunday, June 24, and will feature the USRA Casey’s General Stores Weekly Racing Series. The Season Championship is slated for Aug. 24.
