Lucas Oil Shoot-Out back again for 2007.

Lucas Oil Shoot-Out back again for 2007.

London, Ontario…The Cairn Croft Best Western Hotel on Lundy's Lane in Niagara Falls is the place to be for local dirt racers next Saturday, January 27th. The five race tracks involved in the Lucas Oil Shootout have scheduled a Press Conference for 2:00 p.m. that day to discuss major changes to the hugely successful series.

“We had a great first season in 2006,” says Ransomville Speedway promoter Joel Friesen. “The additions to the 2007 version of the Lucas Oil Shootout will give teams a lot of motivation to get ready for warmer weather.”

The Press Conference will include schedules for the 2007 Lucas Oil Shootout and improvements to the Points Fund, the 5 for 5 Challenge, and a few major surprises including the Lucas Oil Challenge Cup. “The Lucas Oil Challenge Cup is a program like no other,” says series administrator Erica Bicknell. “The whole concept is a big boost to our racing teams, and it’s something entirely out of the ordinary.” Teams will be rewarded for supporting their local tracks, and they will have big incentives to race for the Cup.

“There’s a lot at stake for the drivers and the tracks as well,” says Humberstone Speedway track manager Bob Davidson. “Racers always want to win, but now every race track has more incentive for its own drivers to travel to all the shows.”

Details of each of the Lucas Oil initiatives will be released in detail at the press conference with handouts and eligibility requirements available also.

“The rewards available in this year’s Lucas Oil Shootout will reach well into the 2008 racing season,” says Ohsweken Speedway’s Clinton Geoffrey. “I think this press conference will show that Lucas Oil is not only the best sponsor in racing, but that it also has a lot of fun with its marketing programs.”
