The Glen Ridge Motorsports Park is all set to kick off the 2007 racing season. This Saturday March 3rd the Riverfront Center in Amsterdam, New York will play host to the first annual Glen Ridge Motorsports Park Car Show.
Easily located on Route 5, the Riverfront Center is no stranger to hosting car shows. The facility was once the home of the Fonda Speedway Car Show and in more recent times held various kart shows.
The show will be a one day affair, running from 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturday. All drivers, car owners and venders are reminded that race cars will be moved in on Friday night starting at 5 pm.
The track will present Best Appearing Awards to each of the four regular divisions - Modified, Budget Sportsman, Street Stock and Cruisers. The highly anticipated local radio show - The Outside Groove Motorsports Radio, will present the Best Of Show Awards. The shows staff as well as all present media members will each vote determining this award. The divisional awards will be picked by the tracks staff.
There will also be numerous venders on hand.
Due to some drivers not completely finished with their racers, a few spots have opened up for the show. If you are interested in entering your racer in the show contact Race Director Toby LaGrange at (518) 844 - 2196. The deadline to enter is Thursday night. No entries will be accepted without pre registering.
Drivers will be able to purchase track memberships at the show. Each membership is $50 until April 1st when the price goes to $65. Each driver is encouraged to register their car numbers while at the show. In 2007 all drivers in the Modified, Budget Sportsman, Street Stock, Cruiser, Stock Truck and Pro Stock divisions must register before they can sign in and compete.
