Troyer Race Cars antes up with chassis draw for sportsman racers.
Batavia, NY—Feb. 26, 2007--By: Chris Rhynold, Media/Racer Relations Director
Troyer Race Cars and Billy Colton dropped a major bomb at the Genesee Speedway meet and greet with the announcement that they will be donating a brand new 2006 Troyer Chassis that will be drawn at the end of the season for the sportsman class racers.
Every time a sportsman driver signs up for a race night, his/her name will go on a ballot and added to the drum of ballots. If a driver races in all 15-sportsman events at Genesee Speedway in 2007, their name will be on 15 ballots. At the end of the season at the 2007 Genesee Speedway Racing Banquet the lucky ballot will be drawn.
Troyer Race Cars (then Troyer Engineering) was founded in 1977 by Maynard Troyer and became one of the most successful race car manufacturing businesses in the country.
Bill Colton started working at Troyer in 1981 and became sole owner in 2000. Colton and Troyer Race Cars suffered a devastating blow in 2005 during Super Dirt Week when their shop caught fire and burnt to the ground. Colton threw himself into a massive rebuild project while still building cars at an alternate location and on November 6th, 2006 Troyer Race Cars re-opened their new building on Lyell Rd.
Troyer Race Cars is located at 4555 Lyell Rd, Rochester, NY.
