February 27, 2007 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Pulaski, PA).The FASTRAK Late Model Racing Series has announced that the Northeast Region pre-season Seminar will take place at the Normandy Banquet Center on Saturday, March 10. The Normandy Banquet Center, which is also the Hickory VFW Post 6166, is located at 5550 East State Street in Hermitage, PA 16148 on Route 62 just two miles east of Route 18 and the Shenango Valley Mall, which ironically will be hosting a race car show.
"The Normandy Banquet Center has done a wonderful job hosting our Mercer Raceway Park Awards Banquet the last four years," stated track owner and Northeast Region co-director Vicki Emig. "Hermitage sits in the middle of western Pa. and our region and is easy access from major highways like Interstates 79 and 80 as well Route 60."
The seminar will be split up into three segments. The first seminar will begin at 10 a.m. on teching issues for the weekly speedway and Series tech inspectors, and certified engine rebuilders. There is a $285 fee for any non-sanctioned tracks interested in attending. A seminar for promoters will also begin at 10 a.m. in a separate area. Beginning at 2 p.m., a seminar for drivers will be conducted and anyone else interested in FASTRAK is urged to attend. The drivers' seminar will be an open forum and free to the public. Food and a full bar is available in the lounge and restaurant.
FASTRAK'S founder Stan Lester will return to the region to conduct the seminars along with some of his staff. Lester conducted a very informative and successful meeting back in early November before the region was announced. "We are very excited to bring FASTRAK to the Northeast," stated Lester. "The response has been overwhelming and I'm tickled to death for that region and everyone involved."
The FASTRAK Northeast Racing Series will feature weekly-sanctioned Late Model racing at Raceway 7 (Conneaut, OH), Freedom Raceway (Delevan, NY), Dog Hollow Speedway (Strongstown, PA), and McKean County Raceway (East Smethport, PA) as well as a 15-event Touring Series. The Touring events will range in payoff from $1,200 to-win to a whopping $5,000 to-win on July 4 for the "Yankee 40" at Mercer Raceway Park. The inaugural 2007 Northeast Touring Series Champion will also earn $5,000 and will have a leg up in the chase for the $50,000 National Champion amongst a total point fund worth nearly $350,000.
