Day Motorsports Announces AMP Series

Posted by Late Model Editor  |  03/01/07

With the launch of the Day Motor Sports AMP Late Model Series at Crawford
County Speedway on March 10, a new era for late model racing will begin in
the state of Arkansas. Along with drivers and fans, the men behind the title
sponsorship will be on hand to witness local racing history being made.

American Racer Tire Engineer, Scott McAdoo and Day Motor Sports' General
Manager, Wayne Harris will both be at the series opener at CCS, and will
both bring a long tradition of racing excellence to represent with them.

Day Motor Sports is one of the country's leading distributors of racing
products and parts, from factory stocks to late models. The partnership with
the AMP Series will allow Day to further promote its ever-growing list of
late model accessories to drivers and builders.

"We are designed to offer our customers one-stop shopping," Harris said. "We
want help the driver build his or her car from the ground up. Our
relationship with AMP will help us utilize distribution of our late model
products, as well as expand that product offering."

American Racer tires started out as the McCreary Tire and Rubber Company in
1915 in Indiana, Pennsylvania. The McCreary Tire Company built a long
reputation for quality American workmanship as it grew into a provider of
premium products for commodity type bias ply passenger, light truck and
medium truck tires for the automotive aftermarket.

As the company and the country grew, its specializations changed and,
fittingly enough, so did its name. In 1992 it took on the name Specialty
Tires of America and, in 1994 the American Racer name was introduced to
market the wide variety of quality racing tires produced in the McCreary
tradition of excellence. Today, American Racer Tires from Race Tires America
are fast becoming the choice for racers all across America.

Harris' plan is to attend at least four AMP events this season, with
emphasis on making contact with every driver on the series tour. Along with
feedback on the American Racer tire, Harris also wants to help the drivers
with any suggestions they may have in expanding the product offering
available from Day Motor Sports.

The company was founded by in 1971, and purchased by Dan Hamilton in 2000,
giving Day Motor Sports over 36 years of experience in the racing industry.

"We buy products in large volumes allowing us to offer quality products at
reasonable prices to our customer base," Harris explained. "Most of our
staff is currently or has been involved with racing at some point in their
lives. This gives us the ability to put ourselves in the racer's position,
and help them to determine what they need for their application. I guess it
would be fair to say that we are racers working for racers."
