Northwood 2 Construction/LaSalle Motorsports Join the Empire Super Sprint Sponsorship Fold in a big way for 2007.

By Dean Reynolds

SYARCUSE, N.Y. – As the Empire Super Sprints (ESS) enters its 25th consecutive season of exciting sprint car racing, their ties with the friends “North of the Border” continues to get stronger. With the latest addition of Mike and Lori LaSalle, the stars and cars of ESS as well as the fans will be getting a little extra to be rooting for.

With their business in Spencerville, Ont., Northwood 2 Construction as well as LaSalle Motorsports, the LaSalle’s will be involved in several programs with the Jacobs Motorsports sponsored tour for the upcoming season.

First will find Northwood 2 backing the two Lucas Oil Canadian Invasion A-Mains at the Autodrome Edelweiss Speedway in Cantley, Que. With their help and the added travel tow bonus that each team gets when they race at Edelweiss, the 25 lap A-Main will pay the winner a cool $2,000.

Next will find Northwood 2 picking up the title sponsorships of the Walt’s Hobby Dash events held at the Cornwall Motor Speedway on July 15th and the Brockville Ontario Speedway on Aug. 18th. The four lap dash events pay the winner $100 with each of the six drivers receiving a cash payout.

The final sponsorship will see the LaSalle Motorsports logo on each frisbee that will be tossed to the fans at each ESS event in ’07. Just before the A-Main gets pushed off, at least 10 frisbees will find their way to a lucky fan’s hands making for a fun atmosphere.

“I’m glad to be a part of such a professional organization as ESS.” noted Mike LaSalle who this year will be the main backer of Brian McDonald’s small block modified as well as three young chauffeurs in the sportsman ranks. “We have sponsored dashes in the past and they just treat you with so much respect in return. We are happy to be involved in a larger way for 2007 not only with ESS but also Edelweiss and as well as all the fans that watch the ESS sprinters.”

LaSalle’s small block driver will see plenty of seat time in a winged sprint car as McDonald will have two cars at his disposal for the upcoming season. Plans are to run most of the tour in hopes for an A-Main win with the LaSalle family watching closely at many of the events.

No less than 10 full point A-Mains in 2007 will see a total of $2,000 cash in the winner’s envelope this year with a possibility of more to come. With the addition of Jacobs Motorsports and Lucas Oil, a hefty point fund surpassing last years total is already in place.

A big welcome to the LaSalle’s to the ESS family, with their help the tradition continues with excitement guaranteed!! For more information, please log on to www.empiresupersprints.com
