HARTFORD, Ohio (March 14, 2007) - Advance tickets for Sharon Speedway's special events go on sale this Thursday, March 15, and the track is offering something extra to fans who buy early.
Fans purchasing an advance reserved or general admission ticket for the June 1 World of Outlaws Sprint Series race, the July 28 World of Outlaws Late Models show or the Aug. 25 USAC National Sprint Car Series show will be admitted to an open pit party. The exclusive party, open only to fans who buy advance tickets, will allow them to see the cars and drivers up close and to get autographs without having to wait until the end of the evening.
Tickets can be purchased by calling the speedway ticket office at 330-772-1186 Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets also may be purchased online at www.sharonspeedway.com.
In an effort to make a family night at the track more affordable, Sharon Speedway has significantly reduced kids' ticket prices for special events this season. A general admission ticket for kids ages 6-13 is just $5 this year, with reserved seats just $2 more. Children five and under are admitted free.
Adult (14 and older) advance general admission seats for the June 1 World of Outlaws Sprint Series event and the World of Outlaws Late Models race on July 28 are $25, with reserved seats just $2 more.
Adult general admission tickets purchased in advance for the Aug. 25 USAC National Sprint Car Series event are $18, with reserved seats just $2 more.
"All three of these series will put on great shows this year, and we're hoping that families will come out and enjoy the special events at the track," said Dave Blaney, Sharon Speedway co-owner. "We realize that taking the family anywhere these days can be costly, so we reduced the price of the kids' tickets to just $5, hoping to make it easier for the whole family to come out and enjoy a night of fun and great racing."
