The events at Five Mile Point Speedway for Saturday, March 24th and Sunday, March 25th are still on as scheduled. The recent snow on Friday and Saturday is a set back but plans are still going forward for the weekends event. Spectators, drivers and media representatives are encouraged to contact the speedway in advance on either Thursday or Friday of this week for updated information.
The Five Mile Point Speedway/Race of Champions phone lines have been out for sometime. We have been assured that they will be operational by Tuesday afternoon at the very latest. There will be no changes in any of the current phone numbers. In the mean time the speedway offices can be contacted via email at fivemilepoint1@aol.com.
It is expected that the speedway surface will be ready for the weekend. The bigger question mark is the condition of the grounds. We will send media updates as needed and please watch the Five Mile Point Speedway website at www.fivemilepointspeedway.net for the latest information.
Below is what has been scheduled:
Saturday, March 24th:
10 a.m. Racers Swap Meet (behind grandstand area).
11 a.m Paid practice (open to any teams or tours
competing at fmp in 2007).
3 p.m. Southern Tier Spring Showdown - 50 laps for Pure
Stocks ($750 to win). Plus Figure 8's, Lightning
Cats and a League of Their Own.
Sunday, March 25th:
2:15 p.m. Spring 40 for Modifieds - $2,000 to win!
(any 92 x 13 tire and sail panels allowed).
plus Sportsman 25 (any 92 x 13 tire maximum size)
