Fultonville, NY: For the second consecutive season the Modified division will take the weekly center stage at the Glen Ridge Motorsports Park. Last season Ballston Spas Randy Hotaling claimed six wins on his way to the track championship.
A total of 90 different drivers competed in 2006 with even more expected this season.
The Glen Ridge Modified division offers a nice mix of 358 cubic inch powered cars. Drivers from various area 358 Modified, Sportsman and Crate divisions converge on The Ridge to offer an exciting, action packed form of racing to the Glen Ridge spectators.
Despite the varying make up of this division, the competition is fierce as both the two-barrel and four-barrel powered cars are equal on the tracks tight confines.
This season the purse has been raised to $500 to win up from $400 last season. The amount to take the green has also been raised to $50. A total of 24 cars will start the feature every week with the top five in point standings guaranteed weekly.
We are a perfect track for a young driver to come and get much needed track time, stated track Race Director Toby LaGrange. Our racers do not have large racing budgets and because of that we feel the competition is very equal. That can only result in one thing good, close racing.
The Glen Ridge Modified division hits the track for the first time on Sunday April 22nd with the first annual Spring Clash 40. The winner of this race will earn a guaranteed starting spot for the Capital District 50 to be held on Sunday September 9th apart of the 4th annual Thunder On The Mountain Weekend activities.
