Weedsport, NY – March 23, 2007 – By Tom Skibinski, DIRTcar Racing PR Director
Cayuga County Fair Speedway is ready to race … no joke! In fact, stock car entries continue to be filed for the Sunday, April 1 season-opening ‘No Foolin’ 188’ Enduro that leads off the 53rd year of auto racing on the Cayuga County Fairgrounds.
“Warmer temperatures are moving in and the snow banks are just about gone” said Cayuga County Fair Speedway General Manager Jack Deery. “And that means only one thing around here, its time to go racing. This isn’t an Aprils Fools Day joke, we’re all looking forward to the first green flag to fly in 2007 followed by seven months of mud-slinging action in Weedsport.”
April Fools Day is nothing to laugh about at Cayuga County as Deery has posted $1,000 to win the No Foolin' title race with $300 saved for second and $200 for the show position. A best decorated car contest and kid’s costume competition help fill the afternoon agenda. The No Foolin’ 188 pre-race contests begin at 1 p.m. with pit gates opening at 10 a.m. Adult general admission is $10.00 and pits $20.00.
The No Foolin’ 188 is open to any four or six-cylinder hard-top passenger car, minivan and station wagons with additional cash bonuses paid to the highest finishing station wagon, min-van and automatic transmission car. The fan’s pick as best themed and/or decorated will receive the pole position starting spot. Official No Foolin’ 188 entry forms are available on the internet at www.cayugacountyfairspeedway.com or at the DIRTcar NorthEast Office located in Weedsport.
With the Easter weekend off, the 2007 Cayuga County Fair Speedway race schedule officially swings into high-gear April 15 with the season kick-off for the DIRT Big-block Modified, Sportsman and Street Stock classes plus a regular Enduro show. In lieu of ‘tax day’ the 1040th guest through the gate will receive a complimentary CCFS Season Pass. The adult general admission ticket price is $12 for all CCFS regular shows in 2007, $10 for seniors (65 yrs. plus) and $5 for children (10-14 yrs.) while those 9 years and under are free.
