EASTERN MUSEUM OF MOTOR RACING READY TO HOST
NSCHoF ‘REUNION EAST’ NEXT SATURDAY AFTERNOON
KNOXVILLE, IOWA (March 23, 2007) - According to 1996 National Sprint Car Hall of Fame inductee Lynn Paxton, the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing in York Springs, Pennsylvania, is all set to host the third annual ‘Eastern Reunion’ for National Sprint Car Hall of Famers next Saturday afternoon, March 31. Said Paxton today, “The Eastern Museum is ready to open for the season next Saturday and we’re excited about hosting several Hall of Famers, including 1990 Knoxville Nationals champion and ‘98 inductee Bobby Allen. In addition, we again have some other very special guests lined up for our 11 a.m. forum like veteran drag racer Bruce Larson and retired sprint car racers Paul Pitzer, Richard Lupo and Van May.”
The free meet-and-greet session with the fans will be hosted by veteran writer, announcer and historian Pat Sullivan of Indianapolis, and will take place at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing (EMMR) on the Latimore Valley Fairgrounds. All East-Coast-based inductees into the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame are invited to participate in the forum, and past panels have included Chris Economaki, Lynn Paxton, Al Hamilton, Keith Kauffman, Larry “Smokey” Snellbaker, Ray Tilley, Davey Brown, Granville “Buster” Warke and even midwesterner Bob Trostle and westerner Newton “Buzz” Rose. It is also possible that another ‘mystery guest’ from the Midwest will appear this year.
Steve Miller of the two-hour weekly “Race Night” show on Adams Community Television will again record the proceedings, as he did last year. Fans can check in with “Race Night” on the internet at www.actv.org. Jim Cadwell, a former racer at the Knoxville Raceway in the Fifties, and Marion County Fairboard member Grant Rankin will be part of the Knoxville-based museum’s delegation.
