Susquehanna, PA…The racing season is just around the corner at Penn Can Speedway in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania. The gates are scheduled to open Friday April 20th with the running of the Spring 125 for the modifieds, ROC sportsman, and the IMCA modifieds all running extra distance events. Interest has been at an all time high during the off season car shows and the Spring 125 looks to be a show you won’t want to miss.
Leading up to the big opening night, Penn Can Speedway has scheduled three test and tune practice sessions for any division competing at Penn Can Speedway during the 2007 season. The first of these testing sessions is scheduled for Friday evening April 6th. The other two will be held Friday night April 13th and Sunday afternoon April 22nd. Gates will open for the Friday sessions at 5:30 with practice at 6:15. On Sunday April 22nd gates will open at 12:00 noon with practice at 1:00pm.
The staff at Penn Can has been busy at work during the winter months planning the 2007 season. The year is filled with many special events including the return of the STAR Series for modifieds. This eight race series will pit the best drivers in the southern tier in an eight race mini series at both Penn Can and Five Mile Point. The series is designed for any area modified team to compete. It is not limited to Penn Can and Five Mile Point cars as all teams are welcome. Intersest has been high with many teams stating their intentions to run the eight race tour. The first STAR event will be part of the Spring 125 on April 20.
The popular Race of Champions Modified and Sportsman Tours both have two races at Penn Can Speedway in 2007. The Sportsman Tour is also part of the Opening Spring 125 on Friday April 20th. This fifty lap event is sure to attract the top sportsman teams following the ROC series. Last year over forty sportsman teams came to Penn Can for the first ROC Sportsman event.
Penn Can Speedway is located on Route 171 in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania just a short drive from both the Binghamton and Scranton areas.
