Heading into 2007 for their 7th season at the helm, Gary Palmer and his Family have another great year planned for Accord Speedway. The action packed quarter mile racing facility will offer a full schedule of events, beginning with 2 practice sessions slated for April 6th and the 13th, with free admission for the spectators. The lidlifter is set for April 20th, with racing for all divisions and highlighted by a 50 lap, $2,000.00 to win feature event for the modifieds, sponsored by TerraNova Four Seasons Pizzeria. A regular show is in place for April 27th.
The racing hits high gear on May 4th with "Cinco De Mayo" night on May 4th, that includes a visit from the CNYMS series and regular shows the remainder of the month.
June 1st brings "Disco Night" to the speedway, presented by Camper's Barn and paying $1,000.00 to the winner of the Sportsman feature. June 6th kicks-off "Midweek Madness" with Wednesday night racing featuring Karts, Quads, Bikes and Lawn Mowers, and will continue until August 29th. June is capped off with K&W Car Wash night featuring racing in all divisions and a huge Fireworks extravaganza.
Christmas in July, on the 6th, kicks-off the month with Santa paying a visit to the speedway. July 20th will feature the B. Millen & Sons Recycling "Luau Night," featuring racing in all divisions and the annual Joe Winnie Memorial Race, a 55 lap Modified feature paying $2,000.00 to win.
Hot August racing will feature "Western Night" on the 3rd, from the Pine Grove Dude Ranch. The 10th is set aside for the annual Rene Downes Memorial. The 17th is Kingston Nissan Night with a display from Race Against Drugs.
The 24th is Mid-Hudson Concrete Night with another visit from the CNYMS Series. Topping off the month of August will be Amsoil Night on the 31st with a spectacular Labor Day Light Show and Fireworks, and a $1,000.00 to win race for the Pro Stocks.
Moving into September, HO Penn Night on the 14th will be the final points nights for all divisions. The 22nd will be the Super Nationals for "Midweek Madness." The 28th will ring down the curtain for the Modifieds as Rhinebeck Ford presents the "King of the Catskills" race, and Bars for Less presents the Modified Dash for Cash.
October 13th will be the final program for the season with the "Wreakage in the Catskills" with 4 & 6 Cylinder Enduro racing and a 4 & 6 Cylinder Demolition Derby.
The Modified division rules have been opened up for 2007 and will feature a combination of 358 and Big Block racers doing battle. The office phones have been ringing off the hook as the interest to compete at the "Action Track" is intense. Many new faces are expected as they try to wrest the title from reigning Champion, Mike Ricci. All other divisons will be represented by the track's regular stars, with new talent sprinkled into all of the divisions.
It will be another banner year for Accord Speedway as the Palmer's keep pace with a diverse racing schedule, and attracting a great fan base with their creative promotional work. For additional information, log onto the website at:
