LaFargeville, NY - When the cars come to the start finish line this year to take the first green of 2007, it will be Matt Burdick waiving it high in the sky.

After a very long winter and many offers on the table, Matt Burdick has decided that he’ll be back at Can Am on Saturday nights, with his right hand man Tom Neddo.

“My wife and I have a new addition to the house, a beautiful little girl and after many hours of discussion with her, I decided to come back to Can Am on Saturday nights. It was a tough decision but I thought it was best to stay closer to home and be with family one night a week and flag at a track that I have called home all of my life. Also, having the chance to work alongside of my father (Chip) and run the races has always been a dream and goal of mine. You never know how long this opportunity can last and I believe it is the best choice for me right now. Billy and Charlie Caprara have always treated me and my father like family and have been very good to us throughout my life and it has always been a pleasure working for them. I’m just very excited to be back at the “Nasty Track of the North,” Matt Burdick said.

“As for the rest of the weekend, on Friday nights I have found a new home at the Brewerton Speedway. Promoter, TJ Fitzgibbons made an offer to me last year and I have accepted it. I am looking forward to this challenge on Friday nights and working with the staff from Brewerton. They have been very supportive of me over the years and I'm looking forward to this opportunity to work with them on Friday nights. Unfortunately, Tom Neddo won’t be with me,” Burdick stated.

On Sunday nights, Matt and Tom will continue to flag at Utica Rome Speedway. They have been there for over five years now. “We will continue to be on the flag stand at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park throughout this season as well, Burdick said.

With Burdick heading South on 81 for Brewerton on Friday Nights, Tom Neddo will take over the flagging responsibilities at Thunder Alley Speedpark. “Tom is very capable of being the head starter at the speedway and he deserves this opportunity. In my eyes, Tom is the best Assistant Starter in the area and will do a tremendous job at Thunder Alley this season,” stated Matt. Neddo has been the back up for Matt Burdick for a very a long time and surely can get the job done. Neddo’s back up will be the one and only Michelle Barrett. With Matt on the stand and Chip controlling things from the tower, they both have very high hopes for a great season and are eagerly looking forward to opening day.
