Looking to meet some of your favorite drivers? Maybe get a sneak peek on your favorite driver’s car? Humberstone Speedway will be hosting an autograph session April 5th at 7pm at the Seaway Mall in Welland. Some of the favorites of Humberstone Speedways drivers will be on hand to sign autograph for new and old fans alike. Come see the 2006 Points Champions Dave Dykstra and Doug Banner and ask for their autographs, Niagara areas favorite sprint car driver Rob Pietz, he will be on hand also to sign autographs as The New Humberstone Speedway becomes Niagara’s Home to Sprint car racing.
The drivers this year held nothing back with brand new designs and paint schemes for this 2007 season. The Pete Cosco will be returning to modified ranks with a part time schedule, he will be racing in all 5 Lucas Oil shows and some of the races stateside.
In the sportsman division, after winning two races last year Darren Zumpe, who is returning to the Sportsman division, is stepping up a little with a sharp looking sportsman car. You will have to look closely to pick out Dennis Giancola car as he returns with a flashy new paint scheme. Joining the sportsman ranks is Graham McKay, who has experience in the Modlite division. He is joining the ranks of the Knapp brothers with Little Brothers Service Center sponsored machine for his rookie season.
Jamie Akers, Kevin Knapp and Rob Disher all have their cars on hand to show off their Streetstock cars. Akers who will be trying his luck with a different style car this year.
Should be an interesting year in the Modlite division, with Jamie Gilbert is making his debut in the 2007 season. Gilbert who was points champion in 2000 in the Ministock division. With a strong family and racing background, Gilbert is going to have to prove he can drive anything he is.
Veterans of the Ministock division Brandon Iudiciani, Charlie Lynch and Rob Overholt are all on hand to show off their newly painted Ministocks, as well are new comers Katie Cosco and former StreetStock driver Len Wiley.
Port Colborne Firefighter and current 2006 point champ in the truck division Doug Banner is on hand also is show off his 2007 ride. The paint was still dying on Ed McNamara truck he joked as he pushed it thru the Seaway Mall doors.
