The dates for the 2007 Canadian DIRT Series presented by the main sponsor of the series, Lucas Oil Products are now out. The races will be held at 5 different tracks located in both Quebec and Ontario provinces. Autodrome Granby will host the first event on Friday July 13, the following night it will be the turn of Autodrome Drummond to receive the series. On Friday July 27, Autodrome Edelweiss will be the next visit to start out a 3 night week-end of racing action. The fourth event is scheduled the following night at the BOS, Brockville Ontario Speedway and to finish off this great series, Cornwall Motor Speedway will host the fifth and final event on Sunday July 29. Each feature race will be a 100 lap distance event.

It will be the 6th edition of the Canadian DIRT Series and each year, it gathers more drivers and more spectators. This great venue has started in 2001 with a Granby and Cornwall confrontation and it has grown today to a multi track championship. Many great Canadian drivers have won this series. Quebec’s Superstar Steve Poirier has won 2 series championships. Danny O’Brien who is one the best drivers in eastern Canada was the 2005 champion. Last year, David Hébert another excellent Quebec driver was declared champion by a great margin on Mario Clair. Kayle Robidoux finished 3rd, Yan Bussière 4th and Brian McDonald completed the top 5. Each event has attracted an average of 27-28 cars. It was a great success at each track and we all remember the memorable 40 laps feature finish at Granby between Hébert and Clair.

Drivers will receive nearly $100,000 in purse and different prizes.

A few notes for the 2007 events, there will be time trials, 30 minutes before the start of each event. Also, if there is a tie in point total, it will be the best finish in the previous event that will determine the winner. The DIRT rulebook will be in affect for all races.

The winner of each race will receive a guaranteed spot in the All-Star Race of the famous Victoria 200 which is held at Fulton Speedway on Saturday September 30. Even better, the 2007 Canadian DIRT Series champion will receive a guaranteed starting spot the big 200 laps feature of that event.

Drivers that will participate in all 5 events will be eligible to win many great prizes such as gift certificates. There will be a draw made between those drivers. It’s a good incentive to attract drivers to participate.

Something new for the fans this year, there will be a collector edition poster of the series that will be given out. It is a must have for you collectors.

With the great contribution of Lucas Oil products, 2007 will surely to be the most successful year in the series history. You are invited to come and see it by yourself at one the five jam packed action races!
