Temperatures are expected to climb back into the sixties this week as the Georgetown Speedway looks to open the 2007 season on Friday night April 13. The Big Block Modifieds are scheduled to headline the nights three feature card and begin what will turn out to be a very lucrative point’s series.
The Big Block Modifieds will be joined by the Crate Late Models and Crate Modifieds for a night of wheel to wheel action on the big ˝ mile oval. Gates will open at 5 pm with hot laps set to get underway at 7 pm. The first green flag will drop on heat races beginning at 7:35 pm. Admission is just $12 for adults with kids 12 and under admitted free with a paying adult.
Billy Pauch punched the win column on five occasions in 2006 at Georgetown and is expected to return in an effort to increase that number as the 2007 begins. Jamie Mills, Keith Hoffman, and Richie Pratt were the other Big Block Modified winners of 2006. Jimmy Chester, Kenny Brightbill, and Rick y Johnson also were amongst the contingent that came into Delaware looking to take money back to the Northeast. Will the Delaware Mod squad be ready to defend of the Yankees in 2007? Race number one will set the stage on Friday night beginning at 7:35 pm.
Racers competing at the Georgetown Speedway are reminded that they must run an American Racer 44 or a Hoosier 1300 or D15 on the right rear only. All cars must be equipped with a working RaceCeiver.
Georgetown Speedway, a ˝ mile dirt oval track, is located on U.S. Route 113, just 35 miles south of Dover , DE . The speedway is just a short 45 minute drive from Ocean City and just a bit longer from Washington DC , Baltimore , and Philadelphia .
