LaFargeville, NY – This Friday night, Caprara’s Can Am Motorsports Park
opens the doors for the 2007 season opener in a big way, with four big feature events, plus a full schedule of Thunder Car’s and Truck’s.

The Modifieds will run twin 20 feature events that pay $1,500 to win (for each feature). With the early spring weather not being so kind in the Central New York area, race teams and fans alike are ready to get down and dirty at the “Nasty Track of the North.”

Danny Johnson, Pat Ward, Billy Decker, Frankie Caprara, Danny, Pat, Timmy O’Brien, and Tim Fuller along with many others are all ready to grab Can Am’s first checkered of 2007.

“We are ready to go, it’s been along time since we’ve run Can Am weekly, but we are looking forward it to,” Danny Johnson said. “I have always had a good car up there along with a fast car, so with that and then keeping our momentum going from the late 2006 season’s success and the early success down in Florida in February, it should be a great year for us.”

The 358’s are catching a brake this year at Can Am, with some looser 2004
rule’s in place. A 358 will only have to weigh 2400LBS, they won’t need to run a Rev Limiter, but they will need to run those famous Hoosier tires.

“We are hoping, with the loosening of the 358 rules, it will help the class to grow and to survive,” Race Director, Chip Burdick said. “Here at Can Am the 258’s really don’t have a chance against the Big Block Modifieds. With this one brake, we are hoping to give them the chance at ending up in victory lane.”

Also on the schedule for Friday night will be the Street Stocks and IMCA’s, who each will be competing for a $500 top prize. The Thunder Cars and Trucks will also be in competition. Pit Gates open at 5 and grandstands at 5:30.

On Saturday night the action continues as the Sportsman run Twin 20’s in search of the $600 pay day that awaits each feature winner. The Pure Stocks, Mod Lite’s and a One on One Spectator Race, were that winner will earn themselves a crisp $100 bill. Saturday’s racing concludes with the running of the First Annual 100 lap, Spring Enduro that will pay the first survivor across the line a huge $1,000 check.

All rules for each division including the 100 lap Enduro’s can be found at www.canammotorsports.com or you can contact Race Director, Chip Burdick at chip_burdick@yahoo.com .
