Cooks Contracting Services Picks up Sponsorship of the Nightly “Bridesmaid” Bonus with the Empire Super Sprints.
By Dean Reynolds
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Jeff Cook has been a faithful fixture with the Empire Super Sprints (ESS) since the 2004 racing season, placing in the top ten in points his very first year and every year since. His sprint car carries the #10 on its sideboards, the same #10 as father in law and ESS legend Adrian Flath. For the first time his business, Cooks Contracting Services, will be a sponsor on the tour this year which is brought to you by Jacobs Motorsports.
With the added contribution from Cook and his business located in the upstate New York hamlet of Philadelphia, each driver that finishes in second place during the 25 lap A-Main will collect and extra $50 in cash…thus the “Bridesmaid” Bonus program. Each ESS full point show pays a minimum of $1000 for the runner-up position and now that will be upped thanks to the driver from Antwerp, N.Y.
Cook is a young, energetic 36 year old who also owns Cooks Family Diner and also just breaking ground on the brand new Cooks Plumbing, Heating and Hardware. His contracting service builds houses from the ground to the roof and everywhere in between. He has buildings erected from as far south as Syracuse and north to Potsdam which is right on the N.Y./Canada border.
Last season he placed 10th in the season long points while collecting his fourth career A-Main victory with ESS. This season’s goal is simply a run for the championship with his sharp looking sprinters at each event from May to October. While he has seen his share of bad luck over the years, Cook and his hard working crew always makes sure the sprinter is at the next event.
“Jeff and the entire Flath family have just been dedicated to ESS for so many years. They are a part of ESS and you can not mention history of ESS without them.” said ESS President Chuck Miller. “Jeff is a very successful businessman and we are glad that he has added to our nightly purse. Many drivers will benefit from his program in the 2007 season.”
